Peru
A country as diverse as it gets with environments ranging from the sweaty jungles of the Amazon to long Pacific surf beaches; from the driest desert (Atacama Desert) on the planet to highest snow-covered tropical mountain range, the Cordillera Blanca. This of course offers a huge range of adventure activities, including some epic trekking.
Trekking to Inca ruins is the better known but the Cordilleras Blanca and Huayhuash offer among the best high altitude trekking routes in the world. Starting with my trekking experience in the Cordillera Blanca, I hope to expand this resource to include the majority of routes in the culture and gastronomy-rich country.
NOTE: This is not a static resource, but can become even more comprehensive as I do more treks and other people share their experiences with me.
**If you would like me to add any treks and/or resources about specific areas, EMAIL ME YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND INFO. I will credit all contributions and links.

Almost in the centre of Peru and only 400km from the capital, Lima; Huaraz is the capital of the Ancash Region. Here too is the base for trekking and climbing activities in the Cordillera Blanca (in the Parque Nacional de Huascaran) and Cordillera Huayhuash. Although lesser known, the other provinces within the region like Pallasca, are no less spectaular in their mountain scenery.
